ADSR Challenge 11 - I'll Fly Away

This started out as tragically comic; but ended up being ironically true about my own (now deceased) mother. She didn't use heroin, but physician prescribed anti-depressants to escape from the reality of her life.

Challenge 10 - Fifty (50) Elements

Sweeeet!

narrative-
My life has been OK. I have two lovely, healthy, happy children. A great husband. A wonderful dog. There is no time in my life for regrets. I suppose if I wasn't happy, I would and could change my life. But so far, it hasn't been bad. Would I have been happier with a career and no family? I don't know. This is the way it has panned out for me. Fate? Who cares? This is the life I was meant to have.

Altered Art Challenge - #9

Eat In Peace!
One day my daughter decided to eat in her car for her short lunch hour from work. Parking out away from others as far as she could, she thought she could attain some peace.
Instead, everybody and their brother decided to aprk right next to her and bother her.
So I made this for her. Actually, I made it an put it on an altered domino necklace. Which some of you have been lucky enough to get from me.

ADSR Challenge 8

I chose the song Follow You Home from Nickelback.

well you can dig me up a grave
and try and stick me in the ground
well you can tie me to the bed
and try and beat me half to death
but you can never keep me down
and i'll stay alive
just to follow you home
and i will survive

i'll still follow you home
i'll still follow you home

narrative-While on our Euro trip, it was so nice to sit back and let the kids lead us everywhere. It felt so very nice to be able to look up and find a little redhead bobbing in the crowd or a strong male leading the way. Being with them was better than any dumb trip through Europe anyway.

San Diego – ADSR News has an exclusive interview with the Last Word revealing that LW wants to be with Bob.

Last Word revealed in this candid confession that it would much prefer being with
Bob over all others.

AP - Reporters flocked from all over the globe and were
allowed to ask questions of Last Word in this very
exclusive, one-time only interview.

Last Word revealed during questioning that he would not
be touring anymore. And further denied any involvement
with Canadian spy Melly, international model MummaKat,
or Hollywood actress Samara. Also going further to reveal
that he only visited Little Dragon, Karin M, & Gurl as they were
all married to his brothers.

Having admitted to going home once or twice with Scrap
Dragon, he stated "She showed me every courtesy; as only
the English can - and we even sat down for a nice cuppa' "
Playing a great game of poker with the Ogre every once in
a while "is a great guy's night out." he went on to add.

Barbara Walters asked, "LW, if you were a tree, what tree
would you be?" Last Word revealed that he would be "a strong
OAK tree with solid roots".

When asked what his favorite flavor was by Rachel Ray of
Food Network, he answered "I much prefer hot, spicy dishes.
THAT'S why I will remain with Bob. She's one hot tamale!"

"Well, let me say this, she keeps me satisfied, VERY well
satisfied!" was LW's comment when asked by e-gossip reporter,
Perez Hilton how his love-life was coming along.

Even Walter Cronkite from his anchor's desk in Heaven was
allowed to ask a question of Last Word. Walter wanted to know
if Last Word had any last words. "It will be devine to remain
in Bob's arms forever, she is my other half, my soul mate."

Located on a mountain top in Germany near Hohenschwangau
in southwest Bavaria, Schloss Neuschwanstein was built by
Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to
Richard Wagner, the King’s inspiring muse.

It has long been my dream to visit this castle. Over the
years, I have kept a portrait of this castle on my desk
at work. Many times, I would gaze at the castle and
daydream about the time that I might go to Bavaria
to visit this historic site.

My husband & I visited our daughter & son this past
December. All of us traveled by plane to Germany where,
within the course of our visit, we were able to tour this
astounding castle.

We traveled by horse drawn carriage up the mountain
to the citadel, huddled under warm woolen blankets
while the cold bit at our faces. Once at the top,
we entered the tour at the courtyard and began
our journey of wonder. As we climbed the steep,
winding steps, we peered out the narrow,
rectangular windows at the breathtaking
view out over the mountains.

An overwhelming influence of swans beheld our
interest as every room held a treasure trove
of items. The immense kitchens that could feed
an entire town; the throne room that held
the gem encrusted chandelier, and the
paintings on almost every ceiling

I closed my eyes tightly and imagined that I
was the princess that lived high atop the mountain
in this fairytale castle built especially for me.
It was the trip of a lifetime, one which I never thought
to take. And I will treasure the memories forever.

This quote applies to me. It sums up my life. It's
not over yet. Since it's not the end, it's not OK.
And I can live with that. Now. But...
I used to be a worrier. Always thinking about what
might happen. But as I aged, somehow the worry and
concern fell away. I still try to be prepared, but
I don't always lay awake at night...totally frozen in
fear & unable to sleep for what might happen the next
day. I don't really know how this miracle occurred. I
did not consciously tell myself to quit worrying, tho my
husband has repeatedly told me in the past "don't worry";
which is similar to telling an alcoholic "don't drink"
it's easy to say-but harder to do. I don't know why this
miracle happened, but I am awfully glad it did. At times,
I thought I would lose my mind with worry. But somehow a
miracle blessed me with the ability of living in the present.
What relief to be able to wake up and not feel an
overwhelming sense of dread for the coming day, week,
month. To just be able to live. To feel alive. It is as
if a ton of weight has been removed from my brain.
I don't even feel like the same person that I
was 10, 15, 20 years ago. Everyday is a new day.
A new way to live life. I just hope that this
wonderful feeling continues. Because I don't
want to lose the way I feel. My only regret
is that I didn't live my complete life this way.
Everything will be OK. Because everything is
always OK in the end.

ADSR 2008 Season 3

TIME FOR ADSR 2008 - SEASON 3

Our first challenge is found at http://www.digitalscrapbookingclasses.com/:
Welcome to your first stop in the Amazing DigiScrapper Race! I'm so excited to help kick off the race with you all! So are you ready for a great race?! Take a deep breath and here we go....

For this first challenge I want us all to get a chance to know each other. However, we are going to do something different than the traditional "All About Me" layout. So here are the instructions for your challenge.

1. Use this sketch when creating your layout. Square:

If you would like a layered template version of the sketch in PSD or TIF you can download them here or here. (There are two option in case one of them gets too overloaded - both downloads are identical.) Take the sketch/template and make it a bit your own. You can do this by flipping the layout, adding a photo, moving a few things around, changing the shape of something, or anything else you want to do to personalize the sketch/template.

2. Use your favorite color on the layout. Try to make at least half of your layout in your favorite color so we can all see what it is.

3. Share with us a picture of your favorite person or animal to scrap about on your layout. I want to know who or what is closest to your heart.

4. Go through your collection of digital elements and pick out one of your favorites. Then use it at least three times on your layout. You can use different colors of the same thing, but I want to see three of the same element. For example, if your favorite element is a specific satin ribbon, then use that ribbon three times on your layout. You could use it three times looking exactly the same way or you could alter the color of ribbon to three different colors.

When you get your layout completed, upload it to the ADSR challenge 1 gallery at Natural Designs in Scrapbooking. You have until next Sunday, March 2 at midnight EST to complete the challenge. I encourage you to post a link here to your layout so we can all see your great work. Also, don't forget to post the links to each team member's layout in your team forum. If you have any questions about this, see this thread at NDISB.

For all of those who complete the challenge in time, you will each receive a $10 gift card to the store here. It can be used towards the purchase of anything in the store - templates or classes. So get those layouts in and then you can go shopping!!

I hope you have fun with this challenge, and I can't wait to see all of your layouts and get to know you a bit!
